We here at Crescent Rural Fire Protection District would like to have you as a volunteer with us:

What does volunteering involve? It involves you being an asset to your community. Imagine your neighbor in need of medical help or your family and friends and you’re there what do you do? We at Crescent Fire will teach you skills for helping others in medical emergencies and fire suppression and other rescue skills you can use in your every day life as well as on an emergency scene. We will teach you to help yourself and others in times of need while the whole time you give back to your community and get a sense of accomplishment and pride in the work you do.

The only cost to you is your time. We provide all the training and classes as well as materials to be fully successful in this job. Yes it’s a job… If you want to just be a driver of the equipment, an EMT, or firefighter, we have a position for you here. Sure it’s volunteer, but you do receive many things for it. Here is what you can gain as a volunteer at Crescent Fire:

1. Free training to become a firefighter

2. Training in emergency medicine

3. Annual banquet and awards

4. Community fundraisers

5. Length of service award program

6. Point awards system (financial incentive for trainings based on number of alarms you go on.

7. Paid outside training for classes

8. Accidental death and disability insurance

Imagine sitting at home when those tones go off to help someone in need and you respond to help. Responding in the fire truck or ambulance to a fire or crash or someone in a medical emergency and it is you making the difference in that person’s life.

The training is provided in house by us; it is done on weeknights and some weekends. We can accommodate those who cannot make these hours and train in the daytime Total hours of training equal to 80 for firefighter plus an additional 46 hours for first responder EMS for those who wish to have medical training. This may sound like a lot in this busy life, but it can be done with some hard work and perseverance by you! Imagine getting your Oregon Firefighter certificate and Oregon First Responder certificate for nothing but time invested in your community and training. We ask that if you’re serious please stop by and see us here. Ask questions now before you get involved to make sure you and your family can accomplish this. If you have the drive and the willingness to do this we will make sure you are successful.

We give you all these things and in turn we get a volunteer willing to help respond on calls and to help others. We call this a partnership in team work. We have Wednesday night trainings at 7pm.Please come by and see what we are all about here at. Crescent Fire.
